ESA - Hitachi: new connectivity!
Hitachi EHV and EHV+ offer new ways to connect: Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP
Hitachi has built in the Modbus protocol functionality in their EHV and EHV+ ranges of CPUs. This means that the EH-150 system can now be accessed by more HMIs than ever before. In particular, this is valid for all ESA HMIs. Whilst the EHV CPUs still offer the Task Code protocol (or H protocol) the addition of Modbus protocol makes it possible to use the HMIs which couldn't be used before. The most important is the addition of ESAWare range. Also very interesting is the possibility to use the low cost SC107A panel instead of the SC207A.
Important note about Hitachi EH-150 CPUs:
Hitachi has stopped the production of EH-CPU range as of December 2018. Instead of the EH-CPUs the EHV and EHV+ CPUs can now be used. Everything else in the EH-150 hardware range remains the same.
